Don Nalls, CFP®
Principal, Financial Planner

Don Nalls is a longtime veteran of the investment advisory business. He has many years of entrepreneurial and military leadership experience, combined with a broad and extensive background in management, strategic studies, economics, and history. He brings his long experience and academic knowledge to his current position as principal at The Nalls Sherbakoff Group, LLC.

Don is very proud of his military service. Commissioned in 1985 as a second lieutenant of armor from the Reserve Officer Training Corps, he served in the active Army, Tennessee Army National Guard, and the U.S Army Reserves. Don commanded at every level from platoon leader to assistant division commander and is a graduate of the U.S Army War College.

Before forming The Nalls Sherbakoff Group, LLC, Don was one of the co-founders of Patriot Investment Management, Inc., in 1994. Don served as Chief Compliance Officer and as one of the two principals of Patriot from 1994 until 2012. In 2012 he left Patriot to join C&J Wealth Advisors, and in late 2012 he founded The Nalls Sherbakoff Group, LLC. Don has used his experiences and lessons learned from his previous firms to create a firm that focuses on evidence-based investing and the dimensions of expected return, which in his view holds the promise for the best client focused investment outcomes.

Beyond Work

Don served his community and nation for a number of years in the Tennessee National Guard, and in both the active and reserve components of the U.S. Army. He maintains a lively interest in foreign affairs and military issues.

Don is an active outdoorsman, and he supports both Ducks and Trout Unlimited, and Healing Waters, a fly-fishing program for Veterans. He is married to Susan, and has three adult children and three grandchildren.
